|James Corrigan, Owner, Funeral Director|
Jim Corrigan is a life-long resident of Cleveland’s west side and is a graduate of St. Angela Merici Grade School, St. Ignatius High School, and John Carroll University. His family has been serving Greater Clevelanders since 1940 when his parents, Jack and Beatrice, established their funeral home on Lorain Road and West 148th Street in Cleveland. The business flourished and became one of the largest funeral homes in Ohio due to their dedication to the community’s needs. Beatrice was also one of the first female embalmers in the state of Ohio.
Jim worked with his parents in their funeral home throughout his school years, and attended the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science to become a funeral director and embalmer. He then entered the family business and learned the proper way to care for families in the most challenging times of their lives. After several years, he decided to serve his country, as well as his community, becoming a United States Air Force officer and pilot, rising to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Ohio Air National Guard in Mansfield, Ohio. He received numerous awards, including one for saving an F-100 aircraft experiencing catastrophic engine failure. He eventually became a commercial pilot as well, flying the Boeing 707 and McDonnell Douglas DC-10.
After his flyer career, Jim returned to the family business and his first love of serving families. His goal is to follow the values his parents instilled in him and to ensure the needs of the family being served always take precedent.
